About

The person behind the code

My name is Isaac Hollow Horn Bear. I am Sicangu Lakota, originally from South Dakota, now living in Sacramento, CA. I enjoy the challenge of adapting to the ever-changing field of technology and finding unique, simple solutions — and I take pride in following through to make sure things actually get done.

“I have found a much deeper sense of self through my Lakota heritage and culture — I sincerely believe it’s what has led me to where I am today.”

That perspective shapes how I build: with patience, intention, and respect for the people on the other side of the screen. It’s also why my favorite project is Native StoryBooks — technology in service of cultural preservation.

Founding Engineer

Minnirva

April 2026 — Present

  • Architected and built a five-application B2B SaaS platform — Scout, Focus, Lens, a self-service customer portal, and a centralized billing/provisioning control plane — delivering 215,000+ lines of production code and 1,000+ automated tests.
  • Designed isolated multi-tenancy with a central identity and billing hub plus dedicated EC2/MariaDB environments per tenant; implemented SSO, passkeys/TOTP, Secrets Manager credentials, least-privilege access, and cross-app data contracts.
  • Built Scout, an AI prospecting engine using Gemini, Claude, and OpenAI consensus scoring, Google Places discovery, contact enrichment, automated overnight searches, outreach drafting, CRM handoff, and per-call LLM cost metering.
  • Built Lens, a natural-language-to-SQL reporting agent with live schema introspection, layered read-only SQL guards, saved reports, execution audits, and scheduled CSV delivery across SaaS and on-prem ERP data.
  • Engineered the AWS tenant lifecycle and Stripe billing system: payment-triggered EC2 provisioning, schemas/users/secrets, S3 backups, decommission/recommission, subscription entitlements, named seats, credits, and idempotent webhooks.
  • Led full-stack delivery with Laravel 13, PHP 8.5, React 19, TypeScript, Inertia, Tailwind, Pest, MariaDB, Typesense, Bash, and AWS.

Interstate Advanced Materials

February 2023 — April 2026

  • Architected, built, and ran LAMP-stack applications (Laravel + React) on self-managed AWS EC2 infrastructure — owning provisioning, CI/CD, monitoring, production support, and cost-optimization.
  • Designed and trained a Python credit-assessment ML model using Dun & Bradstreet data, automating credit-limit decisions and slashing manual review time by 80%.
  • Built a real-time credit-check rules engine that pre-qualifies applicants during onboarding, improving approval speed and data accuracy.
  • Integrated DocuSign eSignature API for customer credit applications, reducing onboarding turnaround from days to minutes.
  • Created “Argos,” a secure, OAuth2-protected REST API (Laravel, React) that lets B2B partners place sales orders and query live inventory.
  • Developed “FOCUS” CRM — React/Laravel app synced with SYSPRO and other ERPs — and implemented real-time workflows and notifications via Laravel Reverb to boost sales-rep efficiency.
  • Introduced Redis queues, background workers, and caching layers to improve response times and system resilience under high load.
  • Provided tier-3 support, performed code reviews, and mentored junior developers on PHP, JavaScript, and cloud best practices.

Software Engineer

100devs (Agency)

October 2020 — February 2023

  • Developed and delivered client-focused, full-stack web applications using the MERN (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) stack, translating diverse business requirements into responsive and scalable solutions.
  • Collaborated closely with agency clients from initial consultation and requirements gathering through to development and deployment, ensuring solutions effectively met their needs and objectives.
  • Worked within an agile (Scrum) team to build modern web applications, consistently adhering to development best practices, conducting code reviews, and ensuring high-quality, maintainable code.
